Action rule
Dash
Dash is an action economy rule used to describe what a creature can do on its turn.
What It Is
Dash lets you spend your action to move farther on the same turn.
This page is a compact play reference. If a spell, feature, monster, item, or DM ruling gives a more specific instruction, use that specific instruction.
How To Use It
Increase your available movement for the turn by an amount equal to your speed after modifiers.
Limits And Rolls
- Dash does not teleport you or ignore difficult terrain.
- If your speed is 0, Dash gives you no useful extra movement.
- Dash itself normally requires no roll.
- You only roll when the rule, DM, spell, item, or feature asks for a roll.
