Grave starts by changing the normal Cleric play pattern through Domain Spells; Circle of Mortality; Eyes of the Grave, giving the subclass its first clear mechanical identity.
Later features such as Channel Divinity: Path to the Grave, Sentinel at Death’s Door, Potent Spellcasting expand that identity at higher levels, so the subclass has a clearer role in combat, exploration, utility, or support.
