Scout FAQ
What are the main Scout features?
Scout is a highly mobile wilderness Rogue. Skirmisher lets the Rogue retreat when enemies close in, Survivalist makes Nature and Survival exceptionally reliable, Superior Mobility increases speed, Ambush Master improves the party's opening round, and Sudden Strike creates an unusual high-level opportunity to pressure two targets.
3rd level — Skirmisher
When an enemy ends its turn close to you, use your reaction to move up to half your speed without provoking opportunity attacks from that movement.
3rd level — Survivalist
Gain proficiency in Nature and Survival, with the proficiency bonus doubled for checks using those skills.
9th level — Superior Mobility
Increase walking speed, and also climbing and swimming speeds if you already possess them.
13th level — Ambush Master
Gain advantage on initiative. The first creature you hit during the first round becomes easier for the rest of the party to attack until the start of your next turn.
17th level — Sudden Strike
When taking the Attack action, make another weapon attack as a bonus action. This can deliver Sneak Attack to a second target if the feature's separate-target requirement is satisfied.
How the features work together
Scout combines movement, initiative, and skill expertise into a consistent skirmishing style. Skirmisher creates distance on an enemy's turn, Superior Mobility makes every repositioning tool better, and Ambush Master rewards hitting an important target early so allies can exploit the opening. The wilderness expertise remains useful even when combat never starts.
